Live $5-$10 at Motor City Casino. Very passive game. Only noted exceptions are maniac UTG+1 and aggressive solid players UTG+2 and MP1.

TripleH is UTG 2 /images/graemlins/heart.gif2 /images/graemlins/club.gif

Preflop: TripleH calls, maniac in UTG+1 raises, five callers around to TripleH call.

Flop: (seven players) 2 /images/graemlins/spade.gifA /images/graemlins/heart.gifK /images/graemlins/club.gif
TripleH checks,six checks...on to turn...

Turn: 8 /images/graemlins/club.gif
TripleH bets, only two callers...(when I bet the table calls out "now we know where the ace is." I replied "maybe?"

River: 4 /images/graemlins/spade.gif
TripleH bets,one caller...

Caller shows A /images/graemlins/spade.gifQ /images/graemlins/spade.gif

Just another lesson in playing straightforward in a passive game. Now for my beating please...

What nice little game that a set and TPGK checked that flop so that everyone else had a chance to catch up. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

One maniac and 3 aggressive folks makes for an aggressive game, not a passive one.

The correct response is "Ace what?". or "AA". Or actually "".

Hey, maniacs like to bet so I don't have any problem with your check-raise. And if he doesn't raise surely the AQ will bet. Didn't work this time, but this check-raise looks pretty routine to me. If the maniac had raised in late position then you would bet into the field.

I don't know about you, but I like betting my sets.

7 players in for 2 bets, I wouldn't worry about folds with a raise UTG+1 with a pot that big. Anyone with a gutshot or a piece will stay, otherwise they probably aren't interested anyways. Fire away.

Stop being so results oriented. Checking the flop is comletely fine with a maniac to your immediate left, and aggressive players right after him.

What's not okay with your relative postion is your preflop limp. Fold.

I can understand hero checking the flop, but wtf is AQs doing?

There were bad players in this game. eg I had AQ and was called down by AK with a rainbow board AJ873. When he took the pot he says "phew." Little did he know but so did I!

I thought the limp UTG was okay with 4-7 players seeing every flop. Just felt I needed to play this one and would obviously fold with no deuce on the flop.

In this type game I will think "bet the set" in the future. Of course better position helps. Thanks.
