Hello Everyone

Although I dont concider myself to be an expert or pro player, I am a winning player in the brick and mortars. That is to say I make money instead of spending it.

I am still very leary of playing online at games with stakes any higher than 1/2 because of a fear of collusion. I also find that although Im not loosing, I dont fare nearly as well online as I do in the casino's.

I was wondering if any experts could offer up some things to look out for that may indicate the possablility of players working together or sharing information in the online games. Id like to avoid them if at all possable.

Perhaps I am paranoid, but I'm guessing online collusion is rampent in all the online rooms in 2/4 games and up.

Regards,
Foo

I've suspected collusion once or maybe twice since I started playing online about 7 months ago and I emailed empire support about it and in both instances they went through a thorough search of everything about these 2 players and found nothing. I wouldn't be too worried about collusion to be honest, just look for 2 players who keep on raising eachother and then 1 folds or something similar to that.

Unless you play high limit poker shorthanded on smaller sites I don't you should worry about collusion going on.

I'm not implying that there is collusion at these levels, but if I played them I would be on the lookout for it.

There are 54000 players on Party Poker right now.........

Collusion should not worry you at all.

I've been playing on PP for over a year. Twice I knew I was being colluded against in $5-10 6 max games. The thing was, these colluders were absolutely horrible at colluding, which I suspect most colluders are. So I sat there and let them pump up all of my pots. I took hundreds from those two games and then proceeded to report the losers to PP.

Don't waste your time worrying about collusion. Read some poker books and get out there to kill the games.

There probably is or at least has been collusion at all online poker sites. It is more common at the higher limits. With thousands of players there is bound to be a few that are crooks!

Many colluders are not very good at it and actually lose money. It does cause havoc with the flow of the games though. Most people are multi tabling and do not even realize they are being colluded against. With all of the current bad players it is often difficult to detect.

Keep your eyes open and report possible collusion to support. Some sites are very good at dealing with collusion (i.e. PokerStars) and others handle it very poorly (i.e. PacificPoker).

Thank you,
