What a bunch of Hooey.

The Olympic clean and jerk is real weight lifting. Sometimes it is even shown on TV. Now that is worth watching. I like when some Huge Romanian with a gut the size of long island squirms and screaming as he lifts about 10,000 lbs over his head.

The Clean and Jerk How it is done (http://www.eng.auburn.edu/users/simonton/wl/cj.html) Note: 200kg is about 408 lbs

How a woman does it View at your own risk (http://www.qwa.org/liftstats/lifterstatsgd.asp?lifterid=67) It may take a minute to download but it is worth it. Trust me. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think the raw bench is the only thing worth considering. Who wants to see a contest about who can build a better shirt.

That was so incredibly not worth it.

Note: 200kg is actually 440 lbs. Go metric!

You are correct. I accidently left out one of the twos in the conversion.

200 kg = 440.8 lbs.

Thanks for the correction.

I bet he holds two world records. Benching the most weight ever, and having the smallest penis in the world.

I used to compete in powerlifting. Things like bench shirts are what made me decide to stop. People who lift weights in the gym generally think of a bench shirt as cheating. Its not really, its sports equipment that is legal in the sport of powerlifting. I however think that equipment is not cheating, but wish it would be outlawed. there are "raw" meets, for no equipment, but they are not so common. Also that guy John Inzer who invented the thing in the article has deadlifted like 700+ lbs at under 200 lbs. bodyweight, he is no wimp. The deadlift is a lift where not much help/weight can be added by using equipment.

That is the good stuff. I am anxious for the summer O to be on TV for some real wightlifting.
