Just curious to find out how different people manage their BR at their poker site as I am always searching for more effective ways. I play at Pacific full time and do well at all the levels, I play .5/1 (showdown events) up to 15/30 depending where the action is. On average I play 5/10 short and make 200$ to 300$ per day. What I do is start each day with 500$ and cashout the rest at the end of my shift, this way I have a starting point that helps me organize my daily/monthly profit. I have played with 5G in my bankroll which helps me bully tables when I'm "hot" but I do have this gambler side in me that will lead me to a juicy 15/30 with a 5k BR which is not part of my strategy. Just can't help myself sometimes! Hense, bankroll management...? I prefer to keep a huge BR but don't want to play 15/30 full time and risk it all. How do you deal with this?

I 3-table 3/6 at Party, and keep 500 in my account at all times. winnings come out at the end of the day, just like you.

At the end of each month, half my profit comes out of my online bankroll (for real-world use), and the other half of my profit stays. This is how I've moved up so far, and how I plan to continue to.

I wait until my account has less than 50BB's for 10-20. Then I take a shot at the 100-200 at Stars. If I bust out I sell something (usually myself) and deposit another $2000.

Oh yeah, and cash out profits at the end of the month.

You are smart enough to win $300 per day, but not smart enough to know where to keep all your cash? Tough problem.

Most sites don't charge wiring fees to Neteller. But some do after so many cashouts you have to look at the fine print.....

Lesley and I have a fat BR(15 dimes) online these days for the limits we currently play. She plays $200 max ring NLH, $30-50 1-tables and up to $50 MTT. I'm playing $100 max 6-player NLH, $50 two tables, 1-table sats, and $30-600 MTT.

We want to keep 300BB for any limit we MIGHT play, $15-30 at Party is what we have planned for this summer with the WSOP on TV. We have played almost none so far. For NLH 30 buyins seems right. Over the last 9 months 20 buyins is the biggest downdraft for these.

For MTTs I can't give a number and have anything to back it up. My guess would be in the 50-75Xbuyin range. Almost every MTT I play over $150 is a seat from a sat.

I would think a $9000 BR would be more than enough for us, but about a year ago we went thru two 600BB BRs, $11K each.

Besides my wife says I look more handsome sitting on a really big Bankroll. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hey, MS - I won't ask what you are making with your play, but will make the assumption that you are both playing for a living, yes? You mention a downturn of 20 buy-ins for NL - does that seem extreme to you, for your experience and competency? (not a slam, but an honest question)

Yes, we are both playing for a living. Lesley works the WSOP and a few other tournaments a year. I have worked poker tournaments about two weeks a year for the last 3 years.

A 10-buyin downturn is normal a few times a month. A couple of 20-buyin downturns in 9 months is low varience to me compared to limit.

Thank you for the notes - I have been playing some $200 buy-in NL at Party. Now I know I was playing way over my bankroll for NL games.
