results up front since they don't really matter.

UTG folds, UTG+1 raises, UTG+2 folds, Hero 3-bets, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG+1 caps $3.75 (All-In), Hero calls.

Flop: (9 SB) 6/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 5/images/graemlins/club.gif, 2/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players, 1 all-in)

Turn: (4.50 BB) T/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: (4.50 BB) 3/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: 4.50 BB

Results in white below:
UTG+1 shows Qd Kc (high card, king).
Hero shows As Ad (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Hero wins 4.50 BB.

the real question is whether or not I should have cold called to see if I could let more people in, knowing that this guy was 1.75 from being all-in, and that a 3 bet would almost certainly fold everyone else unless they had a really superior hand as well. Does anyone cold call here?

You have no way of knowing if the players behind you will call 2 bets or if they're folding anyway. I would 3-bet here everytime.

Bison,

Yeah I thought that when I looked at the message list. Yes, move on. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Given the raisers short stack, I think cold-calling is likely a good choice.
