99 heads up in big blind...how to not get owned?

I have 99 in big blind, unknown player raises in early, folded to me. I reraise (is this good or bad...I did it for value/info), he caps. Flop is rags, i bet, he raises, i call. I call on rag turn. River pairs the board, i check he checks, he has aces. Did I play this ok or should I have 3bet the flop and foled to a cap?

sounds pretty good. I wouldn't fold an overpair HU. BTW you didn't get owned in the least. That guy played his hand terribly.
