Congradulations to Greg Maddux. His number 300 win coming aganist the Giants (8-4) made it extra sweet for me.

So let the comparisons begin! Is maddux better than Clemens? and so on.

No responses? Ok I'll go. Boo cubs! Yay Giants! Oh yeah, and in their respective primes, I give the edge to Clemens for pure "stuff." Maddux's ability to pitch is unparalleled however. Also I think todays hitter is better prepared for the control-oriented approach that Maddux perfected, thus "stuff" can make the difference (not that the control pitcher is dead by any means). Maybe I'm influenced by the fact that watching a dominant 18 strikeout performance is often more exciting than watching 18 fly balls hit off the end of the bat. I will say that the ungodly control Maddux has displayed at times is pretty scary. Pedro beats them both any day however... when he's on.
