T1785, table 27. I busted mistermo, I guess he's famous on Party?

Hanging about even at 1135, would be at 1235 had it not been for a misclick where i open raised the bb from the co with 103o and small blind moved in.

And Nick: what the hell happened last night? Seemed like you were cruisin but I'm guessing you loosened up a bit too much.

I called a min raise in the bb with a6. flop was AJ6. I got other guy all in on turn, except he had AJ. I lost most of my stack. I also make a real weak laydown a little earlier, which I would call if i had a chance. I raise to 3000 with 88 in C0-1 and guy who had already gone over the top of one of my raises went all in for 19000. Which was about 40% of my stack.

4091 at the break. Have a huge stack 2 to my left, 11000. I don't really like that. I don't think I have made a big hand yet, mostly steals and bluff catching.

I'll post the results later. Thanks ahead of time.

Guy I'm playing against is fairly weak and has very few chips left.

Our table has been playing extremely tight and I've also been playing very tight and only showing down winners. The BB in this hand though is an extremely weak player. Should I raise bigger preflop?

Out in 345th right before the 2nd break. I started the 2nd hour in decent shape with T1785, but a cold deck along with at least two mistakes brought me down to all-in-or-fold by level 6. It was then that I pushed 88 in CO+1 into an UTG limper who was slowplaying AA.
My mistakes, I think, were raising 3xBB UTG with KK (my only pair in the 2nd hour) when my table image was very tight and two agressive players had seen me limp and then throw my hand away to a preflop raise, more than once.
My second mistake was picking a bad spot to go for a blind steal, namely when the big blind was a shortstack.

I did squeak into the top 40% and so qualified for the 100K freeroll, but still, I'm happy I didn't pay retail.

Come to think, perhaps pushing into that particular UTG limper (wadbutton) was a mistake in itself. He was an agressive player who was doing a lot of raising preflop, so perhaps a limp should have set some alarm bells off in my head.

Trying to decide whether to try to win into tomorrow's. $39 isn't as insignificant for me as it is for many players here, but I swear, these satellites are softer than the regular $10 SnGs.

Anniversary 1 and 2 I lasted a total of 37 minutes. Same thing both times, Late position raise by me, AQ last night AJ tonight. Called by AK and AQ, A on flop, cuts my stack in half. THe get it all in on a draw, hoping for a fold and the other guy flopped a set. Same thing two days in a row.

Down over 3K in Party tournaments since my last $99 win. I'm glad i don't do this for a living. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I wish I did this for a living, it beats the heck out of blacktopping. Those are just tough beats. Nothing you can do about it. Are you playing in the WCOOP tomorrow?

I am out in 210's. I open raise with 66 called in the bb. Flop 357. I go all in and get called by AA and don't catch any of my couple outs. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

No tomorrow for me. I only played today because I won 2K in that rebuy earlier in the week.
I'll probably give Anniversary #3 a shot though

Well, I made #70 and took in about 800 bucks.

The mistake(s) I made at early stages were that I got impatient after waiting almost an hour for playable cards and started taking uncalled-for risks. Here is an example that reduced my stack size by 25%. I hold an A-J in position #1 (!) and limp-in only to get raised modestly. I match the raise and two more players stay in to see the flop. It looks like this:

A /images/graemlins/spade.gif 8 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 3 /images/graemlins/club.gif

What to do? Remember, I am in position #1. Hoping to get players B and C to fold I bet pot size (about 125 chips). Player B just calls and player C goes all-in! Damn! I remember the many lamentations of TJ Cloutier in his book about kicker trouble in these situations. I fold. Player C turns over A-K, Player B turns over A-Q, and player B is out of the tourney.

I overplay pocket pair after the flop even when defeat stares me in my face. Then I limp in with A-9 in late position and again get into trouble with the kicker. SOon my chip size down to 300 while the average is 2000! I lose all hope but decide to play with discipline and save my bullets for that one hand. Lady luck does not smile upon me for a while until the blinds are 25/50 and I get Q-Q in the BB. The bully on the button with a obscenely huge stack tries to bully me betting 500. I go all-in and win that hand. Wow! Very next hand I get K-K and I double up. And then in the next 10 minutes I get dealt A-A twice (!) and I am not at 6000 chips with the average being 3900. Funny how lady luck stops smiling and for the next 30 minutes I get no playable hands. I hang in there and finally decide to try my luck against the BB with a bet of 4500 with A-5 and since it would hardly dent his huge stack (22,000) he matches my bet with a K-10 and catches a 10 on the turn and I am outta the tourney at #70.

SURVIVE BEFORE YOU THRIVE! Lady luck will give you your sunshine sooner or later and make plenty of hay and save it for later games! /images/graemlins/smirk.gif
