Party Poker $30 No-Limit Hold'em Tourney with 800 entrants, Big Blind is t200 (9 handed). 200 people left. BB is pretty loose, UTG seems ok. I'd tried to steal and got caught the last 2 times I'd bet and check folded, but otherwise had been pretty tight.

Key question is: do I want to push in to just pick up blinds, or do I want to induce a call from a loose BB or UTG?

UTG+1 (t1080)
MP1 (t3315)
MP2 (t685)
MP3 (t1035)
CO (t2180)
Button (t6005)
Hero (t2225)
BB (t9612)
UTG (t5792)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J/images/graemlins/heart.gif, J/images/graemlins/club.gif.
UTG calls t200, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, Hero raises to t900, BB calls t700, UTG calls t700.

Flop: (t2700) 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 4/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 2/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (3 players)
Hero bets t1325 (All-In), BB calls t1325, UTG calls t1325.

Turn: (t6675) J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (3 players, 1 all-in)
BB checks, UTG bets t375, BB raises to t750, UTG calls t375.

River: (t8175) A/images/graemlins/heart.gif (3 players, 1 all-in)
BB bets t2817, UTG calls t2817 (All-In).

Final Pot: t13809

Results don't matter, but for the curious...

Results in white below:
BB shows Ad 3d (flush, ace high).
UTG shows Td Th (one pair, tens).
Hero shows Jh Jc (three of a kind, jacks).
Outcome: BB wins t13809.

I liked how you play this, sometimes idiots catch cards.

Wait, who is the idiot here?

Hero was caught stealing (twice), so he's not likely to get any pre-flop respect.

After the flop:

UTG has pocket 10s, the flop were all undercards, seems to me his call is a little loose, but not terribly so (would hero have laid down his JJ if someone went all in on this flop ahead of him? If so, bravo, but pp with no overcards on the flop is hard for most people to get away from)

BB has 13 outs with two cards to come, 48% chance. Looks like good odds to call with to me.

I would prefer to push in preflop. Winning what's in the pot right now would increase your stack by 25%, which is a good amount IMO. I would only not do it if I had a read that UTG's limp likely implied AA/KK/QQ.

I think the question to address here is your total chips. You dont have enough chips to move anyone with anysort of a hand on a favorable flop such as this one, so you should push all in preflop here.

not to get picky, but the BB had 15 outs twice (about 58/42ish) if his gutshot and ace outs are good.

Soss, no comment on push vs. induce call/bluff?
