Raise preflop!!!
Raise the flop!!!

The turn and river would be different had you raise so the way you played it you should just call the river.

Raise pre-flop.

Raise the flop.

Bet the turn.

The way you played this you have to call the river bet.

Thanks all.
This is what I was expecting.

Pocket pairs, even jacks and queens, have done me wrong a lot. So I've been limping in with anything less than queens to see if i flop the set.

The worst was not raising on the flop.
I needed to see where I was at.
Though it was a tight table, I don't think a flush draw would have folded.

On the turn, I was even considering folding. Too weak?

This is all part of a -80BB slump and plays like this don't help.

Playing Ten's and Jacks strictly for set value is probably not a very good idea - you'll flop a set around one in 7 times, and these hands are worth more than that. There's also no reason to give the blinds a free play when you hold a hand as good as Tens or Jacks. A lot of the time you'll have undercard flops or even boards, and they'll win for you completely unimproved.

Nobody raised pre-flop so the chances of big pocket pairs are slim. I'd say raise the flop, and see what happens from there. Having a bad streak is not fun, but going into weak/tight mode will probably just make the streak last longer. It'll pass, don't worry :-)

Thanks.

I was referring to pocket pairs in general.
Obviously an overpair with tens or jacks or better is a very good situation. I should have played it much more aggressively than I did.

BTW: I called the last bet.

BB showed 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 3 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
MP3 showed 6 /images/graemlins/club.gif 6 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

BB wins 9BB
