View Full Version : How long to Kem Cards last?

I'm curious b/c I usually just buy 15 decks from the local casino for $5.50 and they last a couple of weeks per deck. Should I just switch to kems?

I burn a deck a night on a wood table with a bunch of drunks. I save my Kem cards for my felted table. They still drink, smoke, and eat greasy foods (can't tell you how many times I've slapped people for putting pizza on the felt), but the Kems still keep on going. 6 months and still like new. I never use them on a wood table, so there isn't much of a control.

My theory, use cheap cards for people that like to bend cards, be reckless, and are hopeless to train. I let them know I have nice stuff, just don't let them use it until they stop acting like maniacs. Maybe it's not the best thing to do, but it seems to work for me.

Still, I'm guessing Kem cards will be cheaper no matter what the conditions are.

Probably forever unless they really get wrecked. You can't bend them out of shape (unless you're really trying) and you can wash them when they get sticky.

They are well worth the investment.

If someone were to treat my KEM cars so bad that they were ruined, I'd sell them to him for full price. And then not invite him back.
