Scratch that..was in the SB...it only cost me $3.
Pot was over $30.

This was God giving me a little love since I'de spent the last 3 hours playing 4 $1/$2 limit rooms slowly losing my mind trying to eek out my 2500 raked hands and collect my $500 bonus.

thanks God..

are you kidding or serious? I would've clicked the fold in turn button as soon as those cards were dealt to me. How in the world do you know that the pot was gonna be $100? And if you play 25o with that theory, what cards DON'T you play?

Bet the flop.

You're not good.

52o wins 6.8% of the time against 8 opponents (there was one fold before his action). That's a little better than a 14:1 dog. The pot's $27 with $3 to call for 9:1 pot odds which isn't close. But, with at least five and up to seven other players seeing the flop (assuming no more raises) his implied odds are pretty huge, at least if they're bad players (calling stations will do nicely).

So, while not for the faint of heart and a high variance play, it's certainly justifiable.

I think someone named Ed Miller might have written a book about this sort of thing...

This isn't a normal play..remember I'm bonus whoring trying to burn threw 2500 hands before like the 25th of august..
I never play $1/$2 limit holdem, or limit holdem for that matter...strickly Tourney's and NL.

Almost every person at the table were calling stations.

Just thought it was funny that I hit basically the jackpot and win over $100 on a hand like that.

Took exception to Thayle or whatever his name is.

Would I ever normal play 2/5o...hell no except if I was in the BB and there were no raises. Plus I'm playing 4 tables..mainly wired pairs and the occasionally suited connector if the pot is big...trying to accum my 2500! raked hands so I can collect the $500 bonus.

The only idiots were the guys re-raising me wafter the turn etc.
Someone actually wrote in the chat..."he's got 2/5" and the guy still raised me lol.

Anyways..only 750 more hands to go..

Sure, but you can "play" a hand by folding it you know.

Yeah you don't have to call to have "played" the hand. All you have to do is be dealt cards.

Are you sure the hand counts towards my 2500 if i don't put any money in the pot?

Pokerstars which i mainly play on requires you to be in the hand..money wise.
Is empire different

That's news to me about PokerStars. Did they recently change the rules?

Heh.... I was on a table a couple of weeks ago, and someone piped up, "u should NEVER fold before the flop!" I asked him, "Even if you have 72o?" His reply: "yeah - u wulda had 3 7s!" (referring to the hand that had just completed).

It amazes me that people think that way! /images/graemlins/smile.gif I know I often play looser than is good for me (I'm working on it!), particularly if I'm tilting after some clown has hit his 1-outer on the river after weathering 3-bets and caps on every street, but I wouldn't touch a hand like that with a 39 1/2 foot pole! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

As far as I know, The Gaming Club is the only site retarded enough to have it where you have to put money in the pot to count as a raked haned. Empire DEFINATELY does not do this

Thythe

Yeah Empire and PokerStars both do not make you actually put money in the pot. Various Prima skins including The Gaming Club do, but that's pretty much it.

If not, I can tell you why your logic is faulty.

Gotta play 2500 hands to get the bonus....empire must love you. Playing that crap is a good way to break even on a $500 bonus or even lose money. Don't ever play that garbage again and post it. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

This absolutely incorrect. Stars does not require you to put money in the hand, they require you to play in the hand which means being dealt your two hole cards. If you sit out you don't get a FPP...but if your dealt in and the pot is the right size you do--even if you fold before the flop.

And I just cleared a bonus with Party and they don't require you to put money in the hand either. Took me about 1000-1100 hands to clear 700 raked hands. I can guarranty you I wasn't seeing around 70 percent of the flops.
