Party's tweaking of their jackpot tables continues.

Noted this afternoon, they've added all limits .5/1 through 15/30 to the Bad Beat Jackpot tables

Appologies if this has already been mentioned in another thread.

Have they changed the requirements again yet? With that many limits I would guess the jackpot will be hit every 15 minutes. Last night it was about once every 45 minutes but I never looked to see how many tables were playing.

Is there a jackpot drop?

25 cent jackpot drop.

Which means at the $.50/1 tables, $.75 comes out at $5.00 ... for a whopping 15% max rake.

God I love Party.

Do you know something we don't? I'll lay the odds.

I especially love that they rake the jackpot.

the thing is, these jackpot tables might end up being the place to play, since the fish will play here, and not the normal tables. *sigh*, we'll stuck with even higher rake.

well, at 15/30, .25 cents a pot might be worth it if the play is wayyyy worse.

then again, i don't play that high, so screw it.

I haven't played any jackpot yet, but I'd think it might draw the best of the party morons. Couldn't this make it +ev? (.75 on $5 at .50/1. is sick though)

I could see if it were a flat cut, because there is work they need to do to verify the jackpot (reviewing chat logs to make sure there was no discussion, in the rare case jackpots hit close enough together they have to go to that goofy exception rule...). It's not a LOT of work, but it's some.

But to make it a %? Good lord. The work involved is pretty constant, there's no way it should go up lineraly with the jackpot.

And .25 at $.50/1? Nothing like putting the small blind right into the jackpot. Oy.

Has anyone heard if they plan on moving these to Empire any time soon?

Unbelievable, just logged on and the popup lauds the last jackpot winner who won.. $25. Is this a joke?

They upped the minimum losing hand to Aces full of Sixes, so the jackpot should grow more between hits now. These tables are still the best to play at, even with the extra 25c a pot.

I don't think they have much of a clue as to what they are doing, I mean if they change the rules every couple of hours, how can they have had a big enough sample to know the effect of their previous change?

They could have used old hand histories from non-jackpot games to compute a jackpot threshold, couldn't they?

True, but some players will change play styles in jackpot poker, playing more pocket pairs that if the board trips on can be a qualifying loser. They will also play Ax where X is able to be used to make a qualifying full house. This change in play style will cause a change in the frequency of packpot hits. I think they are pumping so many hands through the beta that they will rather quickly hit on a frequency/size for jackpots that they like. Using TTH to test a full table(10 players), Aces full, which is looser than the current requirement, happens about one in 8k dealt hands. A rough estimate would be 10K hands dealt to hit a jackpot, if there are 40 tables going at 60 hands an hour, that is about 4 hours a jackpot and the jackpot would be around $2500 each time.
