Hi all, I've seen on Ebay auctions for "custom chip labels", which are basically peel and stick labels which fit onto the plastic composite (e.g. "dice striped") variety of chips most commonly found on Ebay. Has anybody tried these? What is the quality like? Sounds like a pretty cheap/easy way to customize these types of chips without having to resort to hotstamping. Plus, it seems relatively easy to get your own "custom" designs as well.

I'm curious as well... has anybody tried these?

I have had them done by someone on Ebay, I think his name was Slamdunk or something like that, they're good, but only as good as the design you create or use one of his designs. The quality is nice and it makes an otherwise standard boring dice or suited cheapo 11.5g chips way cooler. I decided I needed to customize my set so I ordered after designing different designs for each color. He was quick and very friendly and helpful. The labels have held up quite well after 3 games. I don't see any problems, hardest part was sticking them to be centered perfectly but from a distance that doesn't matter. I even obsessively went ahead and got some custom playing cards made from this guy who's great called yourplayingcards.com and he provided great service for a deck of plastic playing cards, a little lesser quality than Kems but pretty good too....check the picture

this is his current auction for 3/4" labels, contact him and he will probably do 1" labels like mine.

I went and bought some Avery round 3/4" labels from Office Depot and ran them through my printer!... here's what they look like...

Those look pretty good...did you have to use any special program or anything?

I just made a quick graphic using PaintShop and then used MS Word to print onto the labels... you can download the template from Avery... I figure it cost me 10-15 bucks to label all 500 of my chips.

personally Im not sure they are a good idea, the stickers can only last so long.... couple of months, maybe even 6-12 months, then youl be left with sticky chips

I could of course be wrong

I've had these labels on for over 1 year now and none have come off yet. They have gotten a bit dirty from use but they seem to be standing up better than I thought they would. You can peel these off... a little work to get a corner up... then they come right off... no sticky residue is left on the chip... I used Avery multi-purpose labels... they say "removable" right on the package. Even if I have to re-do them in another year... for $10... not a bad way to customize your chips!

I guess I am wrong

Has anybody tried these guys?

Also, do the labels make the chips stack any different? Is the extra width of the chips (because of the labels on front and back) noticeable?

(By the way, that we site has a label applicator, too... looks like it would make putting the sticker on pretty easy.)

I will say the chips get a little fatter with the labels. I try to put them in a rack and only 18-19 fit in each slot on the rack now. So, if you don't mind that then go for it...I actually have 600 chips in a 650 case so it doesn't matter much for me.

Yeah. It looks like a pretty good option. I might try it also. But did you see their prices for 11.5g chips? Am I missing something?

What is the diameter of the flat space where the label will go? (I'm at the hospital now, can't measure my samples...)
