Stars $1/$2 NL, I am SB with AKo($250). All folds to MP1 who raises to $7($60). CO($180) calls. Button folds to me.

This is an easy laydown, right?

Whaaat?!

The only reason to laydown AK is if you think one of you're opponents has AA or KK. I see no evidence that either one of these players has this type of hand. It's a rather small PF raise (3.5BB) from a middle position raiser. In fact, its very likely that you're up against a hand that you dominate (any ace or KQ), and will get paid off well if you flop a pair.

AK is the fourth best starting hand. Why would you lay it down to a small preflop raise and one caller.

You know, what a stupid post by me. I haven't been running very well (and playing poorly to boot), and I guess I am looking for monsters under the bed.

Fortunately, someone is here to kick me in the ass and wake me up.
