05-07-2002, 01:13 PM
Played in my first 10-20 last night and here are two hands that's been bothering me:

1st hand- 10 handed, fairly tight-aggressive.

I have 7c2c in the small blind. 2 MP limp, LP raises. I decide to call...BB mucks. 4 people see the flop.

2dKhJs

2nd MP bets out...LP raises....I call...1st MP mucks..2nd calls

Turn produces 4s.

MP bets out again...LP Raises....I call....MP re-raises.....LP caps it....I decide to call.

River produces a 5h.

MP bets out again......LP re-raises....I call....MP re-raises again....LP caps it...and I call...

MP had JJ....LP had KK....I show my pairs of deuces....LP takes it down.

later that night....

I'm under the gun with 8d9d..I Call....mucked around to the cut off who raises....The blinds muck......I decide to re-raise....The cut off caps it...I call..

The flop is

Ac9s2h

I led out...CO raises.....I re-raise....CO caps it....I call

Turn produces Ad

Again I lead out....CO raises..I re-raise..CO Caps it....I call

The river is a Kh

I bet out against, CO raises, I re-raises...CO caps it...I call.

CO shows AA....to win a huge pot...I smile....order another strawberry julius and asks the dealer where the nearest ATM is located.

Ouch, I hate when that happens.

Do you ever take a sharp icepick, hold it up to your ear, and stab yourself repeatedly? I hate when that happens.

I had a similar experience at no limit when I went all in for $9,000 with 28o.

This post can't be genuine. If it is, may I suggest that you put in for a seat at the World Series of Poker, Special Olympics division?

Great post, although bat beat stories can sometimes get old. By the way, wasn't April 1 five weeks ago?

It was like that one time... I had one of those, whatcha calls it?

"Model of the Empire State Building?"

Yeah that was it. So I put it up my nose and give it a few whacks with a hammer, you know, just to see how far up it will go.

Balt999,

You played fine except on the first hand you were a little loose before the flop. Remember that it is the long run that counts.

At that rate, the ATM will soon be your best

friend and travelling companion.

obviously you have to play higher so that your hands hold up more.

You did just fine! It was just bad luck.

Move up to 20/40 so you won't get sucked out on as much.

See ya there.
