The other night in a six-handed game there were four players to the flop. Flop came K J 9. Turn and river unimportant. At showdown a set of kings beat a set of jacks beat a set of nines. (Pocket K's, J's and 9's.)
Anyone care to calculate the odds of this happening?

If 3 players are holding different pocket pairs, then the probability of all 3 flopping a set is:
(2^3)/C(46,3) = 0.053% or 1897:1 against

Thanks. What are the odds that I am holding the top set? I was actually. It was surreal.
