7 Handed .25/.5 on Pacific

I have Td8c in the BB.

UTG calls

SB calls

Flop: Tc 8d Ts

SB bets .25
Hero Calls .25
UTG calls .25

Turn: 2s
SB bets .50
Hero calls .50
UTG calls .50

River: Ad

SB checks
Hero bets .50
UTG calls .50
SB folds

Should I have raised the turn? I fgured tehy were both weak and didnt want to push them out. I expect SB to bet the river so i could raise

I'd raise the Turn. They will call the raise with a hand like 2 spades or J9, but will just fold the River when they miss.

I'd raise the turn, yeah. I'd also raise the flop every now and then too, but I like the smooth call too.

Raise the flop. That way, they won't put you on a 10.

Seriously.

do not slow play big hands, you will find action, i was heads up with this fella yesterday with 88 in the BB when he raised outta the sb, i took it for a steal so i reraised he capped, every single street was capped and i took a huge pot with quad 8s against his kk unimproved, if i woulda slowplayed i woulda missed about 10 BB, i used to slowplay big hands, but its not worth it, if you bet out people will likely think you dont have it, they expect the slow play

I tend to vary my play based on recent actions if my opponent was also involved. If I recently had overcards and tried to steal a pot when it was shorthanded, then i'll raise the flop here. If I've been a rock with recent hands, I'll wait until the turn so hopefully someone catches a draw or overcard.

EDIT: If the flop was 2 tone or T88 or you held 88 instead, then do not slow play.

Hey skierdude,
Smoothcalling the flop is fine, but you really need to raise the turn. If there were 2-3 more players to act after you, you could call the turn and try for overcalls. But with only 1 more after you, you should raise and hope to be reraised so you can cap. Bet/raise the river.
