I have now played in 506 SNG tourneys at the $200 vs. $100 level... I go back and forth between them. Here are my results:

<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
Pos $100 $200
1 54 42
2 25 22
3 39 19
4 17 19
5 25 30
6 34 28
7 29 15
8 25 20
9 19 19
10 6 19
Total 273 233

</pre><hr />

For $100 tourneys, my ROI is 42.2% +- 21.1% (this means that over these 273 tourneys it was 42.2%, but my REAL ROI has a 95% chance of being between 21.1% and 63.3%).

For $200 tourneys, my ROI is 25.4% +- 22.3%. In both cases, I am statistically a winner.

My differences between the two is not statistically different if I just look at placing 1-3 or not placing, but IS statistically different if I include all places 1-10. Much of this significant difference is due to the frequency of placing tenth --- I rarely place tenth in the $100 SNGs, although I frequently do in the $200s. I believe the reason for this is that I have played a good many $200 tourneys where nobody busts out until the fourth level... but this rarely happens in the $100 tourneys. I think this is due to people not treating top pair, good kicker as the nuts at the $200 level --- they are much more cautious with it.

Note that in both the $100 and $200 tourneys, I get a huge number of firsts --- almost 20% of the total tourneys I enter, but I also get a lot of fifth and sixth place finishes. This is due to my aggressive style once the table gets down to five or six players.

I would be interested in comparing to others... is this consistent with your results at the two levels?

Impressive results. I cannot comment on the game conditions as I have not played at these limits. It would, however, be nice if you could contribute something towards the discussion/s about what strategy changes are needed as you move up limits, and what game conditions are like - I'm sure a lot of people would be interested.

It would also be nice to get an idea of how many people frequenting this board (SNG's) play at these limits. My impression is most play the $20-$30 levels or less.

The main thing to me is that people respect your raises more the higher you move up in levels. In low levels, it does no good to limp in the early levels. At the higher buyins, I will limp in late position with most hands in an unraised pot with several limpers. It is much easier to steal a pot here. Positional raises after one or two limpers, which don't work at lower limits, can also work quite well at the $100 and $200 level.

One notable thing is that people at lower levels will almost never check their top pair --- but at the higher levels they will often treat their top pair weak kicker as a bluff catcher --- they don't bet it but they call your bet. If I do a position raise, get checked into on the flop, and then bet with nothing, if I get called, I shut down for the rest of the hand. At lower levels you can pick it up on the turn, but not at the higher levels.

There are a bunch of us who play the 215. Prickly Pete, Frozen, ZeeJustin, Bozman, Daliman, myself, and a few more I am forgetting.

Hey, Jason... I used to play under the moniker BJKing2. I changed that a couple of weeks ago, but you might have seen me as that.

How do you do on the $200 as opposed to the $100, or do you play the $100?
