Below is a hand Jason posted to the Party 1/4 million thread. PPs below JJ kill me, I never know how to play them and with this flop and river I would have been out of the hand in a heartbeat - if I'd ever actually got in it. Jason, can you explain the thought process when you played it?

Sure.

1) I thought he was full of it.

2) I was very certain the ace was not something he wanted to see.

It was risky, but every now and then I choose to make a stand when it comes to something like this, and my opponent was not pot committed. It's just a bluff where I felt like I could get my opponent to fold a better hand.

Here's my thing about this hand. While I love the turn push, I really don't like the flop play. The turn A saved this hand for you, IMO; I can't see him laying down many hands to your flop raise; there was 1000 in the pot coming into the flop, and with the 500 he bets he only needs to call 1000 more so he's getting 3:1 on the call. Was that intentional?

I feel like the preflop "steal" raise and the flop bet screams K-weak kicker, so you're drawing to 2 9's, 4 Aces to make a good bluff, and otherwise you have to convince him you have a set or two pair or something to convince him that his K is no good.

What would you have done if a baby card came on the turn, and he checked to you?

I'd probably still push if he checked to me, as I did not read him for a king. The ace did save me, but this opponent was very aggressive. I had a read going into this hand.

I do agree thought that a reraise PF is probably a better way to play this hand.
