He did go to MIT. He also later went to law school.

i heard that the show is staged and i didnt believe it, but now i dont think he would agree to have it televised if he really was a card counter who was active.

I dont think he agreed to have it filmed necessarily. They interviewed him on fremont after he got thrown out.

i heard some time back about making the book "Bringing Down the House" the MIT blackjack team story a movie. Could this have been a way to promote the story for the future?

After watching the first episode (and only one I'll ever see) I couldn't believe just how insultingly(that a word?) fake it was. The simple life and "marry a midget" are probably less scripted, and might even have more to do with the day to day operations of a casino.

I've posted this on another site, and I'll let you in on it too. A very good, longtime friend of mine works for FOX. Casino is 80% scripted, Simple Life is 80% scripted, ALL reality shows on FOX are 80% scripted. I can't speak of the other networks, just FOX.

Casino is 100% scripted. They have a seperate area walled off in the Nugget where most of the filming takes place.

definitely totally staged. He was already a well known card counter, which is how they knew to get him involved, and is also how the surveillance guys spotted him. It was like a live drill for the surveillance guys. Still it was kind of interesting.

Ok i will sound a little silly but i was on full tilt last night saw andy bloch there. We got into a discussion about his cameo, I thought it would be interesting to some folks that he mentioned the shots of the 2 asian guys from his team where from the story bringing down the house. Netiher one was kevin lewis but he did mention it was part of the goof to contact them.
