Is anybody else in? I am up to 4400 after getting blinded down to 1600 from 3 to 4:30. I also won a $300 sng satellite for the $2600 seat. Good day for me so far. My name is Bonillafan.

Went out 269th. Can't get any breaks at all still. Fischman is destroying this tourney!

I don't get stud. Is there no raising allowed or something? It seems to be check/bet/call, check/bet/call, or bet/call, bet/call, all the way down.

I guess there's no "raise or fold" mantra for stud. Why not?

I know, this is the world's most ignorant stud post ever.

Fischman is in the final 4, this should be interesting.

Because unlike HE, the player that is behind is often drawing very live to win the hand. Take these hands for example:

(4s Kc) Kd Qh 7s vs. (2h 2d) Ad 3d 8c

In holdem, the smaller pair can't call, but in stud he has many outs and check-calling becomes much more correct.

"Fischman is destroying this tourney!"

I was with him at the opening table and he played tight aggressive.

Then he was moved to my table with a huge stack as the tournament leader with about 50 or so left. (40 was the cuttoff for the money). I kid you not when I say he raised or reraised every hand. And when I say every hand I mean everyhand! I think he might have folded once in a span of about 30-35 hands!

Yeah, stud is the biggest suckout game on the planet.

There's also a good deal of checking in the dark on the end by the guy doing all the betting. You have those Kings and and have been betting all the way, but if your opponent has a 3 flush on his board, you're likely going to just check-call the end because you can only be raised in this situation by a made draw.

So who won? I'm at work so I can't log on and didn't watch any of it last night.

Fischman went out in 4th. With 4 people left, Fischman was tied for 2nd with about 250k and Tony had about 400k one short stack had about only one big bet (15k) but tripled up. The short stack then continued to fold and fischman tangled with a bigger stack and lost. Because the $7k probably wasnt a big deal to him, he was probably trying to take risks to get in a great position to win it.

the short stack, Yamaha, is a good player I think. He is always on Stars at the 30/60 stud and hi/low waiting for players. I asked a couple people about him when I saw him at the final table and one said she has seen him play a number of times in cash games and tourneys and he is real solid
