I've now passed the 6 months point of playing no limit holdem tournament poker on the Internet and 2 Axioms have become apparent. Bear in mind that these axioms apply only to, imo, a majority of on-line player and certainly not all.

Axiom #1: Preflop and often times beyond, players will not fold any pair, even to a substantial raise.

Axiom #2: Same as axiom #1 but plug in AK in lieu of any pair.

The following is a hand I played yesterday in a Pokerstars multi tourney. I'm not proud of the way I played the hand but it did catapult me into contention and I ended up with a profitable 4th place finish.

Please feel free to comment on who you all think was the bigger moron, me or my opponent. I vote for my opponent pre-flop, me post flop and overall, close to a toss up but probably me.

P.S. Prior to submitting this I decided to run the odds through the poker calculator and I was a 2.6 to 1 underdog post flop and the pot was offering me precisely 2.6 to 1.

However, at the time, I did not try to run any numbers through my head, just knew that the pot was big and if I didn't hit, would be eliminated.

So I guess this leads to another question for me. If you are getting exactly pot odds for a call, but it means elinination if it doesn't hit, should you still do it.
