What do most people agree on as a proper bankroll for NL games? I understand that 300 big bets is proper for limit, but what's a good NL approximation?

Depends on how well you play, but about 10-12 full buyins should do the trick.

I've read elsewhere that 30 buyins is ideal but, for playing low stakes online, 10 is plenty if you are a decent player.

I'm a new player at NL but so far 10 buyins is the worst I have gone down before an upswing. I'm sure if you wanted to play 40 hrs/week you would need more. Probably 20 buyins at least.

I disagree with this. Assuming that you will eventually play enough hands to be in the "long run", how quickly you play should make no difference to bankroll size.

Now if you planned to play for a fixed number of days, a player who plays 8 hours a day would need a larger bankroll then one who plays just one hour a day.

I play an hour or two a day and I also have a loss limit per day, so i'm just not going to see the type of variance per time period that others might see.
