UTG hands

I havent read SSH yet, but I read the TH for advanced players and generally follow their guidelines for pf play, maybe a little looser. For example I'll play KQo UTG usually, and AK-AJo, and if the game is fairly loose passive 66 and up. Is this about right??? What about raising hands?

all pocket pairs IMO are playable from anywhere in a standard online microlimit game.

Yea your probably right. When I play the 3/6 game at the casino thats definitely the case because of the players/flop. I hear you should be getting 5:1 for any small PP pf. Is this really a number that should be strictly adhered to?

I think it is really 8.5 to 1.

I will payy to see the flop on any unraised pot. With any pair. If I flop a set I jam like crazy.

I believe 8.5 to 1 are the odds of flopping a set. You do not need 8.5 to 1 on immediate calls in order to play a small pocket pair, though, since implied odds are so high postflop in the event a set is flopped. This is why I think it's around 5 to 1.

I'll call with a low pocket pair in a multiway cap preflop
because you get HUGE money if you hit your set and somebody has an over pair. =)

Tournament hold'em and ring game hold'em are entirely different beasts.

Many of the concerns that guide tournament play are based on the fact that you have a finite bankroll, a finite number of hands. In a ring game situation, your bankroll and your session are both theoretically endless.

You need to read some books but here is my thoughts as to how I would probably play UTG in a micro-limit game (I am assuming most are loose passive based on my experience at 2/4 in the past)
