It's a horse race between Kerry and Ashcroft for worst respecter of individual liberties. To be honest, as much as I hate and despise Ashcroft and the PATRIOT act he enforces, I'm not sure who is worse between the two.
Asset forfeiture laws are an egregious violation of civil liberties in this country, possibly the worst we have had the last decades. And kerry is a big reason for them, as he is an enthusiastic drug warrior. Read the article, it will get you very depressed knowing there are no good choices for us.
