so, someone correct me or help me out here.

Trump has 3-6, 5-10, 10-20 and up... and a NLHE game?

If somebody could tell me what the buy-in and the rake are for the NL game. also the rake for the 3-6 and 5-10.

and how long should I expect to wait for a seat in a 3-6 and a 5-10? on a saturday night? on a sunday night? on a monday afternoon? on a monday evening? is there call ahead for the board?

also, how do I get there?

I'm thinking of checking it out, finally. I haven't played casino poker in about 20 months (not counting a time unexpectedly stumbled upon my friend in a 2-4 game I had no intention of playing, but had $40 shoved in my hand to sit with for a while. $40 ain't much in a 2-4 game, and no luck for me I was out in about an hour) and I've been dying to check out the 'new' Trump room.

This is correct, for Hold'em. I'm not sure if they're getting a 20/40 off the ground lately or not. The 3/6 and 5/10 have full kills and the 10/20 is usually played with a half-kill.

The NL minimum buyin is $200, no max with 5/5 blinds. The NL game charges $7/half hour - no rake. I assume the rakes for the 3/6 and 5/10 are 10% to $5 plus $1 jackpot, but I don't remember exactly. The 10/20 rakes 5% to $5, I believe.

You should call ahead; you get 1 hour to arrive. The 3/6 list on a weekend evening is very, very long. The 5/10 will be shorter, but there will probably be fewer games going. Call ahead, you won't regret it.

Depends. If you're driving from Chicago, take the Dan Ryan to the Skyway. Once on the Indiana Tollway, get off at the Cline exit and follow the signs to the Gary Boats. You can check their website for details. There is also a shuttle leaving from Chinatown.

Good luck. It's a nice room.

thanks for the info, you wouldn't happen to have the reservation number handy?

here's my situation, i'm driving up to caesars from indianapolis on saturday. i play 2/4 regularly on pacific/party and i'm an average player. i've never played in a b&m before, so to say that i'm nervous is an understatement.

due to the amount of competition for 3/6 and the higher rake, should i instead just move to 5/10? i've read that both games are semi-soft and are comparable to 2/4? what time should i look to arrive? is it busy all day on the weekend or are grinders and locals the majority until a certain time period?

anyway, looking forward to the new experience. kinda enjoy the feeling of anticipation and a little fear. appreciate any further information.

Sure. 1-888-218-7867. That's the toll-free number to the casino. Hit 0 and ask for the Poker Room. There's a direct number to the poker room, but I guess I don't have it.

My wife is a sometimes .5/1.00 player on Pokerstars. She feels pretty comfortable in the 5/10 game. Remember that this is a kill game, so if the idea of 10/20 makes you nervous, you might want to try the 3/6 first. You can always move to the 5/10. I believe you'll find the quality of play to be about the same at either game. I'm not very good at comparing B&M games to online games, but the comparision to 2/4 seems right to me.

Plan to get there around 5pm, and you shouldn't have much trouble. Do call ahead, you'll be glad you did.

Have fun. There's nothing to worry about. You will make mistakes in handling chips and cards. Don't get flustered or too embarrassed. If you feel tense, take a walk on deck to clear your head.

The Cat has hit it on the head, this place is a very nice room, large, big screens, fast drink service...the direct number to the poker room is 219-977-7444. Good luck. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
