Push all in on both hands.

1) Take it down. Go for the chip lead with your 99. No reason to be waiting for 2 full rounds to creep by just to try to blind out the small guy.

2) Once again, push to go for chip lead tie. In this case, though, I'd put some stress into thinking about what you put SB on with that check. maybe he has AA or KK but then again, have you observed him calling as SB with marginal hands? If calling as SB seems so out of line, I'd check. Otherwise, you're not too far from being scared of blinding out to 4th. Now, if it were two callers before you, I'd check for sure and see the flop, but there is reasonable folding equity here, I think.

From this post, I can tell that you are not pushing with enough hands on the bubble. 99 and TT are easy pushes, especially in the two situations you gave.

I get it all-in in both of those spots.

What I actually did in the situation was to fold 99, and then sit there with smoke coming out of my ears as everyone folded to short stack's big blind. TT I did push with and was called by K5o, which pulled a king on the flop, but it was a good play anyway.

I think I've learned my lesson here. Thanks to everyone who responded.

I find I regret not pushing more often than I regret pushing.
