Two hands from 3-table $30 MTT on party last night. Final table. Table seems very tight. Few flops seen.

So, good laydown pre-flop? Would have left me with 1/3 of my stack and fairly crippled had I lost the hand. Thought the 99 was weak given a caller already, and, of course, had no crystal ball to see the quads coming. (darn it!)

Now, down to 6 players and 5 are ITM. Many hands go by with 1 raise and all fold.:

So, very dumb, right? MP was pretty short stacked and I just needed some more patience to get in the money. Funny how I would call this guy with AQ (and actually get the best of it) yet fold the 99 above. All thoughts welcome. Fire away.....
