View Full Version : too aggressive preflop with KK?

i was in small blind, it was raised $2.50 going around, i went all in with KK, someone behind me called with AA, original raiser folded w/ 10/10. i lost. could i have played that better?

I don't think moving all in by massively overbetting the pot is the best way to play KK here. I'd probably pot raise it to 7. If the AA reraises, only then am I moving all in. If he simply calls, it gives you a chance to get away on the flop with an A on board.

You want to get your chips in preflop with KK almost all the time, but don't give your opponents a chance to fold. In this case, chances are you are only going to be called when beat.
