Was whoring on a Playtech casino site, and was doing it with let it ride poker, as it was counting all 3 bets towards my requirement, while Id only lose one if I didnt get anything (taking bet back)...

started with 10c bets, playing simple martindale on it was at $25 a spot when...

Cards: A-A-5
So Im thinking woot, $75 winner I let it ride

First up Card: Ace
Now Im getting excited, thinking this can be a really happy day

Last up Card: ACE!!!!!!!!!!!! $1,250 per $25 spot won $3,750 whoring off a $50 start bank.... Anyone else have this happen?

Wink MartinDALE - former radio and television personality. hosted the game-show Tic Tac Dough (among others).

MartinGALE - a double-up progression betting system that is an extremely effective way to lose your money much faster then just flat-betting....unless you happen to get very lucky along the way.

Which makes it particularly WELL-SUITED to bonus whoring. And no, I'm not explaining this again.

this implies that you've explained it before (which i have missed).

thanks for the link....
i read through your post and you reminded me of some stuff that i should have remembered...and some stuff that i should have already known or been able to figure out.
(kicking self)...thanks.

i recall a thread that contained info about it actually being +EV to place the whole $2k wad down on one hand if you're getting a bonus there....just MUCH MUCH higher variance obviously.
maybe this info was also in this thread...i only read through your post.

anyway, interesting stuff....and perhaps worth remembering if i ever get around to whoring the non-poker games.

i still liked Tic-Tac-Dough though.

Yeh don't know if you bonus whore cryto microbob but its casino bonuses are probably worth doing ed's way, considering you get them for free and you're really only there for the poker bonuses. After grinding out the 1st quart using 1poound bets at William Hill reading that thread Ed linked to inspired me to just high variance it up. Betting 25pounds a hand finished up at around 260USD for 1hrs BJ.

You've absolutely got to get in on them, party fish have nothing on the crypto Europeans. It might not be soo great for US players as you'll be playing in its quiet time but for me in Australia my evenings seem to coincide with the biggest fish coming online.

Which site was it? They had ten cent let-it-ride?
Please let us know how the cash-out goes. I have read some less than flattering reports about playtech sites. I hope it goes well.
Good job.

For those who want to do a doubling system without risking their whole roll on one shot, you can always start by betting some lesser amount, let it ride a certain # of times and then repeat the process. This increases risk of ruin somewhat, but also increases amount bet, which makes the clearance go faster and adds some excitement. I should note, however, that all doubling sytems used with Blackjack have to take into account doubling and splitting, which increase your risk of ruin: example doing the crypto $80 match bonus. Say you bet $1, win, bet $2, win, $4, win, $8 win, $16 win, then on the $32 bet you are dealt 99 vs a 6. You split and each split hits a 2 for 11, so now it is right to double each bet, so now you are suddenly risking $128, which means you now have to risk some of your own (non-house money) to make the most +ev bet. The good news is that whenever a situation like this comes up you are a getting excellent odds, but you need to be willing to take the risk.

Here is a system I sometimes use with Blackjack (It goes faster than min bets, is somewhat entertaining, has modest risk of ruin--basically any betting pattern you use that includes larger bets increases both your ev and your risk of ruin and most importantly decreases time invested--you can even use silly, superstitious betting patterns, like betting large after the house has won 3 in a row: all larger bets are better bets if you are not risk averse.) (oops, got alittle carried away there in the parentheses):

Bet $2. If you win, bet $4. If you win, bet $6 (you've now "saved your original $2). If you win, bet $11 (you're profiting now), if you win, bet $22. If you win, stop, start over. I also reset back to the original $2 bet if any doubling, splitting or blackjacking occurs in the round. Pushes don't effect anything except they count toward your wagering requirement, so it's a positive event for high bet pushes to happen. Reset to $2 after every loss.

Many variations of this kind of system are possible.
