is not very g00t. btw whats up with this "g00t" thing?
anyway, I drove with my friend to the liqor store to get some snax + alcohol. He had been looking for the world select beer as shown at the end of each wpt episode. i had a sip and hated it (i h8 beer so my opinion doesnt count). My beer loving friends said it was not good.

any other opinions?

Beer is very subjective.
Personally, I hate guiness. I know many that swear by it, though.

gOOt = asian for "good"

as in..."you play goot, why boy"
also popular is "ni han"

I haven't tried it, but it's a Budweiser product - I don't hold out much hope.

They don't call it "Budarrhea" for nothing!

It's basically Budweiser's not-so-veiled attempt to sell Heineken as an American beer. If you like Heineken, you won't mind World Select, but you'll probably still prefer Heineken.

FWIW, I think the beer is OK.

Every time I see the ending of an episode of the WPT, I have to gag when they toast with that swill. I was wondering what would ever happen if the winner disliked that crap as much as I do.

Sure enough, one week shows them raising their glasses in the final toast, and just before the camera cut away to the closing credits, we see the winner almost trip over himself trying to run over to set his glass on the nearest table.

Can't remember who/which it was, but it was quite gratifying.

I've seen several of the winners and runners up fail to drink their own toast, even when they were using champagne. The guy with the really freaky facial tics (name escapes me) looked like he was holding a live viper. I'm guessing recoving alcoholic.

It is some awful swill. I'll make a pledge right here that if I win in Aruba, I'll do a "spit take" during the toast.

It is actually considered to be an insult (rude) to the toasters to drink to your own toast. You are expected to raise your glass in acknowledgement and observe.

I stand corrected. This is now even more incentive to win, since I notice that the runner-up is usually toasting the winner. Of course, I'll probably be drowning my sorrows many hours (or days) earlier.
