View Full Version : Was this a bad beat or should I have played it differently?

I'm on the big blind with 68o, the board calls to me and I check. I get the flop of a lifetime: 579 rainbow. I bet 5 big bets and get raised. I re-raise, then I get re-raised. I put him on three of a kind and call his all-in. He had pocket 9s and pairs the board for a boat.

I think I'd play the hand the same way again, but I thought I'd solicit some other opinions.

Thanks.

Its hardly a bad beat to have a straight run down by a set. I'm just wondering how it took 4 (or was it 5?) raises for someone to get all in.

you are ahead on the flop. He has many outs. That's all that happened. Most of the time you win. Sometimes you lose. Calling an all-in when you have the nuts is generally +EV.
