Did I play this alright? I don't know if I should have raised the turn or river, but when he capped I thought I might be against AQ or AK..it was one of the first hands I had sat down on and I thought he might have limped either.

I think you should raise the turn and see what happens. He could be playing pretty wild with any ace here.

...or he might have capped the flop with a flush draw.

Do a lot of people cap with flush draws with only one other person in the pot though, with a paired board? That's what I'm wondering. I wouldn't put that as a typical play by a typical PP user.

Raise the turn, he is probably overplaying a Q, smaller Ace, or flush draw.

No, you're right, the flush draw isn't very likely.
But an ace with a worse kicker than you is, especially since he didn't raise preflop.

Put in one more on the turn and slow down after that.

Can you really see him limping with AK/AQ here? Those are the only two hands you're losing to. Definetly raise the turn, and call if you're three bet just in case he's one of those weak bastards that limps with one of those hands. I'd be amazed if you lost this one, results?

He had A5o, and I won a smallish pot.

I suppose KJ/images/graemlins/spade.gif is possible...but really, there's no way you lose here. I'm probably not slowing down until he bets the river having capped the turn.

Looking back on it, I think I was just coming off a string of bad beats and was temporarily timid...I don't see how I could have played this hand so passively in retrospect.

That's a no-brainer on the turn. Do you really think he slow-played AQ, AK, or QQ preflop?

Raise it up like a mad man, and i'd even cap the turn... i'm a little crazy though.
