Last week I'm sitting in a nine handed thirty sixty game at canterbury. A good but not great dealer is coming into our game. I pull him aside and bet him $10 he cannot get out 15+ hands in his down. The table is about 50/50 regulars/unknowns. Should he have accepted this bet?

No. He'd probably assume you have some inside info. Like one of the unknowns is drunk/retarded or just taking forever for whatever reason.

Vehn told us about this last night at Bob T.'s. The dealer in question is, in my opinion, one of the best in the room (also one of the better floormen). He should not accept your bet, because if he gets caught, he will lose his cushy job, and that isn't worth ten bucks.

15 hands is nothing to crow about. However, with you playing at the table you can help influence the outcome of the bet, so, no, I don't think he should accept.

It is not in Vehn's best interest to slow down a good $30/60 game so that he can win a $10 bet.
