This is from my home game.
Five-card stud, lowball. One down, four up. Quarter ante, high card brings it in for 50 cents on second street. Spread limit, $0.50-$3.00.
(I really like this game, by the way.)
There are two bad players in my home game (out of six). One is really bad. This is a play he's made several times. He's somehow convinced it's good poker. He's ultra-aggressive in general and I guess this is just an extension of that, but it's the most misguided aggressiveness I've ever seen.
On fourth street: (heads up)
Player A: (X) 4 9 3
Player B: (X) 7 6 2
Pot: $5.50
Player B bets $3.

I seriously can't think of a worse play in poker. Player A thought it was a good bluff! I can't fathom how he thinks he can bluff a guy who knows with 100% certainty whether his hand is good, but that was his rationale.* Seriously, was he trying to represent a six high? His nine is showing.
Obviously, Player B didn't fall for the "bluff," and re-raised.
