Duran Duran
Beyonce/Destiny's Child
Kiss
Foreigner

Dude, I'm not afraid to say I like a band or whatever.. People are sheep.. Once someone from MTV decided Vanilla Ice sucked, everyone else agreed. I like a backstreet boys song, who cares. If you are listening to a certain type of music for an image, you've missed the boat.

"Dude..." I think you've missed the boat...this is a lighthearted post...obviously I'm not afraid of what people think or I wouldn't have posted this in the first place...it's supossed to be fun, not a critical rant on that state of societal pressures and how media culture gives certain art a cache that other same-quality work doesn't, based solely on a percieved popularity.

Or whatever the f**k you were whining about.

Not neccessarily.

We went over to a friend's house a few years ago and he had a Toto CD on the counter. We have badgered him incessantly since that day. I am sure he wishes he kept that a secret.

The you wasn't really meant towards you personally, I meant people in general. I stand by my post though.

Rushmore

That will make it seem a little more acceptable to old BeerMoney, who is very seriously unconcerned with anyone finding out the fact that Dead or Alive is his favorite band.

Just kiddin, bud.

lol...now see, that's another one - I LIKE Toto

Rushmore

Embarassed? No. Conflicted? Sure. Here goes:

The Smiths
Sarah McLaughlin
Enya
Kate Bush
Depeche Mode

There. I said it.

I'm another rebel who doesn't really care who knows, but I understand the "fun" intention of the question:

Def Leppard
Kiss
REO Speedwagon
Elvis
Barbra Streisand
The Carpenters
Deftones
Metallica
Kiss
Counting Crows
Shawn Mullins

...Um, I think I could go on and on here.

only 'cause you want her to hurry up and turn 18, not vecause you like the music.

She sure looks a lot better all made up.

AVRIL LAVIGNE!!!

I also admit to this one. I've bought 3 songs of her songs off of iTunes, although she probably has the most juvenile lyrics I've ever heard. If she ever matures in that department, she'd be dece.

Her rich, deep voice. I still shiver whenever I hear her hit one of those notes. The background music? Blah, 70's, ick. But the voice...the voice. Probably why I dig Streisand and Patsy Cline.

The Doors
Pink Floyd
Phish
Creedence
The Strokes

For the record, it should be 9 arms though.

I can't wait to use this joke! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

So do I. I thought he was asking it in a facetious way, since he posted it on an open forum /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I was just naming some of my favorite bands/acts/performers of many genres.

But to answer your question, yes, I am crazy. Aren't we all? /images/graemlins/grin.gif

You people have to do MUCH better, most of these bands can not be considered guilty pleasures...

I'm partial to Donna Lewis's single "I love you always forever"

Now that IS a guilty pleasure.

I own her first album /images/graemlins/smile.gif. I agree with your assessment and really hope she eventually tries to delve into slightly heavier sounds ala "Losing Grip" on a more consistent basis.

I don't even know who Donna Lewis is.

How about:

Air Supply?
KD Lang?
The Lawrence Welk Orchestra?
Sonny & Cher?
DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince?

Sadly, she is what I suppose you'd call French pop. But while that sounds horrible, her songs actually sound quite good despie their abyssmal lyrics -- her voice just has something to it...

I had a post in another thread a while back that listed a bunch of stuff that was on my mp3 playlist, and I bet half of it would be embarassing to a lot of you.

And whoever said that they're embarassed to listen to Air Supply is on crack. If you're going to be embarassed, be embarassed that you really enjoy Tiny Tim, or think that MC Hammer is a musical genius.

There, I did it. I mentioned Tiny Tim and MC Hammer in the same sentence. I'll do my best to construct one that includes Stephen Hawking and Billy Graham at a later date, but can't think of a way to link them yet.
