Are bots really out there on different sites? How difficult would it be to create a bot that played only the top 20 hands, and played them fast and aggressive? Would it work, is it out there?

I have heard that some sites have allowed bots being made by grad students to be tested in the play money tables. I also don't know if there is anyway they could stop somebody from setting up a legit account and then just putting it on autopilot.

I have read somewhere, that when you install party-poker, you also install a program that checks your computer for bots. I cant remember where i read it, and I dont know if the information is accurate.

It doesn't really have to install a seperate program to check for bots. It wouldn't be difficult to find out if a seperate program was being installed... but like I said, that wouldn't mean there wasn't checking going on.

Bots probably either wrap the DLLs that the software might use, or install system hooks. Both of those things can be checked for, but there is absolutely nothing you can do that can't be undone. Update the software a lot, that's it.
