FAQ or Searching for Dummies for the forums?

Anyone have some solid hints/steps to follow when searching the forums for posts?

Primarily finding posts from 6 months ago? Walk-through examples would be great, since I am just frustrating myself searching by alias or title fragments

Anything before Jan 31 is found in the archives (http://archiveserver.twoplustwo.com/ubbthreads.php)

but how did you get there, to make this link? It isn't "Older Archives" and I'm guessing it's this?

"older posts are on the archive server...you have to change the web address from forumserver to archiveserver.
