Just a flash game for no money. There's 3 rows, and 6 different symbols that can come up in each row.

- 3 completely different symbols and you lose your bet

- 2 of same symbol not touching (in rows 1 and 3) is a wash, no loss, no win.

- 2 of same symbol next to each other (rows 1&2 or 2&3) wins double your money plus your bet back (is that technically 3-1 or 2-1?). So if you have $100 and bet it, you'd end up with $300.

- 3 of the same symbol wins 5 times your money plus your bet back (5-1 or 6-1?) $100 ends up with $600.

I think I figured it out where after every 216 spins you should be +30 units. Is this correct?

Exactly!

EV = 6*5*4/6^3 *(-1) + (6*1*5 + 5*6*1)/6^3 *(2) + 6*1*1/6^3 * (5)

216*EV = 30.

Depends on the probability distribution of the symbols coming up on each row.
If they are uniform, then yes.
