I have been watching a lot of the HU tourneys lately and find them to be interesting. I think if you are a good play these can be very rewarding. They take anywhere from 1 minute to 20 minutes to complete. If you play the $50 tourneys have 10 matches an hour and go 7 for 10, you have made about 100-(10xfees) = ~75/hour. I think there is some serious +EV in these matches over the 6 and 10 person tourneys where it is not uncommon for the match to run for ~1hour

What are your thoughts on this?

for a HU Specialist like Prefontaine on Stars who plays the $5000s, it's great.

Doesn't you play cash only, not Tourney based? I think the tourney structure is better because I think the rake in the end you well have less profit. For a 50+2.5 you pay 2.5x2 in fees for 2 players. I think the rake in the end will get you unless the game takes 10 hands to drain your apponent. right?

I don't think he meant cash because there's $5000 HU sit and goes.

RE: Rake
Comparing HU SnG and HU ring is apples to oranges. In ring you can double up ($3 rake) and you still have a double stack if your opponent re-buys which is a huge advantage. If you win a SnG you start even with your opponent at T1000 in the next "match". Even though it may take you 50-200 raked hands to double up, the advantages of having a double stack outweigh what you paid in blinds. And after you triple up or quadruple up the advantage you have is enormous.

Give Doyle Brunson 4x the stack of everyone at the table and he could beat that game without looking at his cards before the flop.

I have just been playing the low limits on stars and UB, but I really enjoy them. Won one in the first hand. The level of play really varies from player to player. I get to play a ton of cards, and the suck-outs aren't as bad.
