What do you do with those hands UTG (talking about midlimit, 15/30, 20-40)? Raising seems a bit over the top, but it seems to be a big no-no to open limp, even from UTG. that would be my action of choice, however.
What if the table is loose-aggressive (a lot of people will call, and someone is bound to raise preflop)? Open-raise yourself then? How about a passive game? limp or raise?

It all depends on the game, but in a full ring NL game/tournament I'd do the following:
KTs - Fold
KJs - Fold
QJs - Fold
88 - In a passive game I'd limp, but I'd fold if I expected any raising
In limit it would depend on the table. If they were really weak players I would possibly try to get in there with the big drawing hands. In general I try to avoid those hands though as top pair with 2nd-3rd kicker really isn't a hand that I want to bank on. Obviously you'll hit a big straight or flush sometimes, but those times are fairly rare.

call call call call. in theory i might not call with KTs but i do.

I limp with these hands at a passive table, fold at an aggressive table, and raise 88 at a table full of weak players.
At a weak enough table I've ended up as the "button" from UTG by raising 88 /images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I am folding the KTs regardless of the game.

fold, call, call, call. yes, I think the T makes a big enough difference.
I'm not folding any of them. In some games I would raise KJs.

Against a tough (I mean really tough) table semi-bluffing preflop from UTG can be a strong play. They'll respect the UTG raise a lot.

For real? Maybe I am too tight up front cause in a full game I atuo muck KTs adn QJs, prolly limp with KJs, 88 50%-50% limp or raise manily cause I hated to open limp.

Ok, since no one else wants to say it, I will. Please don't take this the wrong way, but if you're asking this question in the way that you are, you probably should not be playing 15/30 or 20/40, or rather, expect to consistently beat it.

I don't see how this question can say that much about my skill at 15/30 or 20/40. I pretty much have a plan depending on the table with all of them, but I was just seeing the overall opinion on these debateable hands.

It doesn't necessarily, which is I why I said "probably." Every so often someone posts a basic question about playing at higher levels and usually the person who is asking should be nowehere near that game.

this is something a lot of people need to get over

open-limping is fine in EP. Not later on. Maybe emp in some cases, and almost never in LP.
Do you agree with this?

I think my main issue is that I play almost exclusivly short, so if i play a full game i am still reluctent to open limp. But I have a prob with it and so do a far number of players.

"At a weak enough table I've ended up as the "button" from UTG by raising 88"
Why is this weak? In a game full of very good players, you will end up as the button quite often when you come in for a raise UTG.
