10/20 - the game is slowing down and were down to 4 - the guy 2 to my right is injecting some enthusiasm - either he has hit a lot of good hands pre-flop or he raises way too much - not enough showdowns to say but my strong feeling is the latter

fresh blood arrives and both post in UTG+1 and the cutoff - i'm in the BB with the stellar 9s5h - UTG limps - the posters check and aggro guy on the button raises - SB calls - and i figure this has to be reasonable value and call - all good ?

I call here pretty much every time too. I don't think it's right though. OK you're getting 11/1 but you're going to have to hit a perfect flop and I don't see that happening often enough. Even though you've got 2 posters with random hands, a weak limper UTG and an agro raising, someone is going to hit on the flop. I doubt it will be the 95.

More likely you'll hit just enough to lose even more.

I would call here any suited and any 1 offsuit gappers. 2 gappers i can call too but T7 is a borderline. 3-gappers - nevermind.

offsuited 3 gappers are pretty useless i think... even if you flop trips, the chance you get outkicked or outdrawn some of the time is enough for me to toss it in the muck without a second thought.

yeah yeah - you guys are so tight - either that or i'm going through an aggro phase...

it pains me to report that the flop came 7 5 4 - the SB bet out and i called (eeek) - 2 calls and 2 folds behind me

the turn was a repeat 5 - i raised the SB's bet thinking any 6 is paying full price - one call and 1 fold behind me as the SB called

river was a 3 - it was checked through and the SB's 64 got home - perhaps my only good argument is that the poster who came along had 98o
