I'm pretty sure 2+2er arkady is the BB here (Sorry I didn't identify myself 'kady. I wasn't really paying attention.) UTG is a maniac. Like 90% of the flops, and always for a raise. Routinely capping any street any hand. Rarely slows down, the whole deal. So I try to isolate and shove my chips in. When do you slowdown.

Absolute Poker 5/10 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A/images/graemlins/club.gif, 9/images/graemlins/club.gif.

Flop: (10 SB) 3/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 6/images/graemlins/club.gif, A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (3 players)

I slow down pretty much the same place you did.

Thanks everyone. I thought I played fine but I wanted to make sure the maniac wasn't tilting me.

FWIW, he dragged the pot with 54o for the flopped OESD and the rivered straight.

Btw, sfer dropped a PM regarding the villain and I stand my ground and this should be a cap.

For others who are not aware, we are talking absolute maniac. He 3-bet me on the river once while I held the nut flush and after I capped him, he folded. So with three of a kind against this guy, its a cap.

I expected this hand to end with you being blindsided by a set from the small blind. If it is correct to raise the river in spite of that threat, it is certainly correct to cap it after SB folds. Your opponent is incapable of showing strength so play percentages and assume your trips decent kicker is good. The wheel is just a freak accident.

This reminds me of a spectacular hand I played from SB in a recent SNG. A large raised field saw a flop of KK3. I coldcalled seven times and dragged the pot with 33.

The battling kings just never stopped to think about what was happening. That's a common mistake in my experience.
