maybe this is a silly question and doesn't really matter, but you micro-limit regulars buy in for the minimum (25 on PP's .5/1 tables) or do you use your whole BR, or somewhere in between. secondly, does anyone think it matters?

I just buy-in for the default. There are those who believe that if you buy-in for more you get more respect at the table. I haven't found it to make a huge difference one way or the other.

25BB is sufficient, some people buy in for as much as twice that. Buying in for your whole bankroll should only be done as a psychological move.

if you get below 14BB at any point, you should rebuy above that level. Above 14BB, it's all fuzzy.

I've started buying in at my 6 max tables for twice the buyin- but that's just for my own psychological benefit. I feel better being down 10BB and having 80 bucks in front of my than the same and having 30.

I buy in for the standard 25BB most of the time. But like B Dids, I don't like the way my stack looks if I am down 10 BB so I rebuy if that happens. Sometimes, if I am losing at a table, I will keep rebuying just enough to keep me even every hand. It amuses me.

I don't think your opponents care much (unless you buy in at .5/1 with $1000 or something, which I did once for fun) so buy in with whatever makes you comfortable.

Im not really a micro limit player but this is a fairly limit crossing question. I prefer to buy in for 10BB when playing 3 6 normally, however I have lately been buying in for 15BB in 5 10. If I get around to 5BB ill rebuy, but imo there really isnt a need to sit at a table with more than 15BB unless you play in a fashion where you have a very high variance.

However you do need more than 10bb, what if every street is capped?? I usually buy in for 40bb, I rarely need to reload on a table with that buy in.

i was going to say the same thing. three times yesterday i saw players have to go all in with their AA because they didn't have enough money to continue. so i guess that's the situation i don't want to be in.

thanks everyone.

I always buy in with 30BB mainly for psychology reasons - since I always rebuy when at <=14BB, I want to have just crossed the 50% mark of my buy-in at that time.

I used to buy in for 25BB all the time, but it's easy to get thumped on a couple hands and get below 12BB or so. I hate the thought of rebuying (even if you're playing well), so I upped it to 40 or 50 BB, haven't had to rebuy yet.
