Do you find that most places rank simultaneous ejections based on starting chip count for that hand (i.e. more chips, higher ranking), or do you see people tying a place? I think it's standard to base it on starting chip count, but not sure. Perhaps B&M is different from online?

B&M is harder since there is no way to know how much a player had at the start. Online tends to use this method. Usually B&M will split the money if it was on the same hand.

How would it be harder in B&M to know how much a player had at the start? Wouldn't the involvement in various sidepots be an indication? I.e. if A and B are all in , but B and C are in a sidepot, then naturally, B had more than A.
Am I confused?

When people are at different tables, it gets harder.
