Going to AC for the first time tonight. Probably going to hit up the Taj and Borgata for a little pokey-pokey.

First question: Do they spread low-buy-in NL games? I love the $100 buy-in games in California, although the $2/3 blinds are a bit steep relative to the stacks. Anything like these games in AC?

I've played poker in LA, Vegas, Foxwoods, Northern California, and Seattle. Anything out-of-the-ordinary that I should expect from an AC card room, poker- or other-wise?

How does the limit hold'em compare to Foxwoods? Is the 5/10 or 10/20 tougher, easier, or close to the competition at the Woods?

Is it worth getting players cards at Borgata or Taj?

Are there any tourneys around town this weekend? (Even small-ish daily or weekly tournies).

Thanks. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

1. they have 1-2 blind NL games at the Borgata, Taj and Trop. I think the buyins are around 200.

2. its pretty standard compared to any other casino.

3. i'd say the 5-10 is a little fishier than the woods, and the 10-20 is a little tougher. not too big of a difference though.

4. yeah its prob worth it, you can earn $1 an hour at 5-10 and $2 an hour at 10-20 at the taj, i think its the same at borgata. that outta buy you a sandwich or two.

5. borgata and trop both have daily tournaments in the 40-60 buyin range.

have fun.

I believe Bally's also has a 1/2 blind NL game. Ballys is smoking, all the others are non-smoking. Max buy-in is 300 in all of them.

Taj and Borgata have tournaments monday through friday. Note that the friday Borgata tournament is actually a satellite to the WPT event.

Trop has tournaments every day including the weekend.

They do, but the people who play in it are there to play in it -- that is, you don't have any limit players who want to "try their hand" at NL. Also, you typically have guys who sit there for 24 hours and bully out small stacks. (Last time I was there, a guy had easily $1,200 and potentially closer to $2k.)

If you want to play 2/4 limit, Bally's is the best. Fishiest game I ever sat in. They play 11 handed and I swear I saw five family pots (excluding me) in the 2+ hours I was there.

So of the Trop, Borg, and Taj, which NL game is the easiest to make a profit in? I'll be in AC for a couple days next week and I'm not sure I'll have much playing time (going with non-gamblers) so I'll probably only have a chance to play at one, maybe two if I'm lucky. This'll be midweek, probably in the evening.

What are the best restaurants in the Taj or Borgata? Price isn't much of an issue, any any type of cuisine is fine.

the bally's room closes around 3 am just to let you know...and I found the quality of player to be a little better because you have to know that the room is there because it is upstairs and out of the way and it is smaller than the other rooms at the other casinos

the noodle bar at the borgata is good, actually any restuarant in the borgata is quality. im not too impressed with the taj's food though.
