Was this hand played correctly and in the end a wise fold?
MrWyllys seemed like a fairly solid/ABC player.

Perhaps I should have raised pf, or raised more on the flop? I folded in case he made a big hand in the SB and to almost ensure myself of being in the money since the person behind me would be practically allin on his next hand.

Any comments or suggestions on my play of the whole hand would be appreciated.

Seeing the villan as a solid player and with the stacks as they are, I'd try raising to 750 pre-flop to see what's up. He pushes, I fold, happy to have the SS almost all in the next hand.

Without raising preflop, I like the reraise, but may push it to 900 to see if he has a real hand. If he calls, I'm in check/fold mode waiting for the SS to bust.

Once you're in the flop and he calls your reraise, and then comes out betting, I'm gone. You're got no kicker and he's playing like two pair or a set. Assuming it pays top three you're putting yourself in a bad spot. Get the money, then open up.

I'd raise pre-flop. This let's him know you have a solid starting hand (say with an A).

With your min-raise post-flop you are trying to tell him you have the A. He doesn't care, either b/c he's got you beat, or he thinks you don't really have it. Given that you played the way he did pf-I'd either raise 600 more -or-fold here (depending upon if you think he's gota ya).

Again on the turn, I'd either raise or fold. Put him to the test or get the hell out.

He's showing a lot of aggression. TP with a horrid kicker is not enough for me to starting flinging chips in the pot. I'd most likely test him pre-flop, represent the TP and see how he likes that. Your betting has not put any fear in him, nor slowed him down.

I like the raise on the flop, but agree that you should maybe have increased the amount to make him think hard about whether he wants to tangle with you.

When he comes out betting again, I'm done. You said, "I have an ace" and he said, "Good. Glad to hear it. I've got K8."

News flash. The kicker doesn't play.

The board is A866K. So unless your opponent has A8 or AK, or a 6, you are tied or ahead. I dont know how this opponent plays, but if it were me in the SB, I'd raise any ace. I'd make a decision on the flop whether to commit my stack. A min raise just doesnt do it. I don't like committing nearly 1/3 of my stack and then folding. So I'd either all-in, or fold on the flop. You have come to a point where you should either play this hand for your stack, or move on. IMO of course.

I've just noticed the very tiny stack waiting to be eliminated. I think you should just fold this hand on the flop and move on.

On the river it is tough, but I think you have to call. I just dont see what he could have that beats you?

This post wasn't great. Sorry.

Edit: By this post I meant my post, not yours.
