I personally think Phil Ivey looks more like Alex Rodriguez than he does like Tiger Woods.

I doubt that the comparison is made for looks (outside the fact that they are both black). I believe it to be a measure of skill.

I personally think there is a resemblence between Ivey and Woods but I think the comparison is sadly inspired by mostly race. Wouldn't people be a little less quick to jump on the nickname bandwagon if they were called John Juanda the "Jackie Chan" of poker, which is in a weird sense fitting, because he beats you into submission.
