Maybe the newsletter bonus is seperate

MicroBob

interesting.

they are both called TGIF.
and the e-mailed one specifically says absolute rewards club members.

but i agree that it appears there is a possibility of getting it twice (or that this one is seperate...or however you want to describe it).

thanks for the heads-up.

I don't have an Absolute account yet. Do you think I could open one today for the 35% deposit bonus and then get the reload tommorow? What does it take to become an "Rewards Member"?

MicroBob
07-15-2004, 05:33 PM
they send you a player's card in the mail.
it took almost a month for me to receive mine.

but they are having a 35% bonus up to $210 (or something like that) initial-deposit special for july only.
and they seem to be offering other frequent reloads although i dont know if that will continue obviously.

and as i said before....the TGIF coupon i got is good through August 13 on any friday reload if you send them the e-mail. so you may be able to get your rewards # in time to take advantage of that offer too.

even if you can't take advantage of whatever the offer is this friday for whatever reason you may want to consider absolute anyway.

i signed up with absolute about a month ago....and have acquired $800 in bonus-money through various reloads ($90 of which i have actually cleared).

the software is bulky and also resource-intensive for some. and the game selection is minimal. the site will NOT blow you away.
but at least their cash-outs are fast (but you have to 48-hours from last deposit before being able to cash-out).

they are having a ton of reloads lately so i'm just stocking them up for a rainy-day...kind of like what i'm doing with the UB-SNG's.

Might as well email them and ask if you can get a rewards number right away. Email responses are usually pretty quick, although they don't seem overly bright. If they say no, don't worry about it. Lately, they have reloads constantly. Plus if you become a member before Aug 15, you can do it anyway.

Hey Bob its after midnight here on the east coast, did you make the deposit and get the Friday bonus yet?

I got my sign up bonus around 11, not sure if I should go for the reload now or wait till tommorow?

MicroBob
07-16-2004, 01:13 AM
got this from another forum.
i still think the e-mail neglected to mention the 'e-mail promotions' aspect of it and that these promotions are the same since they are both called TGIF.

maybe there is also one for this friday only where you don't have to e-mail promotions but i just don't think it is very likely.

we'll see. but don't be surprised if the bonus doesnt come automatically.

Found this link on RGP...
Reload (http://www.absolutepoker.com/mailers/absolute_action/july_14_04_KFC90/)

It doesnt mention anything about needing a code or email, but does say its for Rewards Members. I assume I was automatically enrolled in that when signing up? It says I have 2400 points and rank 363 for the month. I don't know how without ever playing a single hand there yet, but oh well... guess it wouldnt hurt to make the reload deposit and see what happens....

MicroBob

i agree with that assessment.

btw...i suspect the guy got his points by depositing.

You were right Bob, I made the deposit and the bonus is not automatic.

So I sent an email to the address you posted with the subject line TGIF 30% and inside I wrote that I didnt have my rewards number hand ( because I just opened the account 2 hours ago and got the $210 bonus /images/graemlins/wink.gif) and I just gave them my nick and email address.

Less then an hour later, they credited the $100. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks for all the info on PokerRoom and Absolute, $460 in bonuses today, gotta get to work...

MicroBob
07-16-2004, 04:07 AM
yup....should keep you busy.

pokerroom bonuses expire in 60 days (and i like the games better there)
absolute bonuses never expire.

obviously i'd go for p-room first.

did you give up on the whole UB-SNG thing??

MicroBob
07-16-2004, 04:18 AM
holy crap...i lied.
i actually have $900 in bonus money there. $90 of which i have cleared.

this TGIF thing will make it an even $1k in bonus money that i have received from them.

Again! Some time soon I've got to put in about 200 hours at Absolute.

No wonder their rake free games died. They give you more for playing in raked games!

After the newest upgrade to AP, the popup box stats 30% reload up to $210 for Absolute Rewards Members this month on Fridays.

I am confused now. I am going to email support and see what I can find out.

You are really confusing everyone. Today you are offering a 30% TGIF bonus. Up to how much?

What about the other 2 bonuses that are also listed as TGIF?

Subject: TGIF bonus

I received an email listing a 30% reload bonus (max 100) this Friday 7/16. No other restrictions were listed.

Also received a newsletter stating a TGIF Reload to Absolute Rewards Members 30% (max 100) where you have to email promotions@absolutepoker.com to redeem it.

Also after the latest upgrade the popup box lists a 30% reload (max 210) this month on Fridays for AR members but lists no other restrictions.

Please advise which of the bonuses is actually valid and what the exact requirements are for receiving them.

Thank You

I just logged on to AP and the popup box mentions a 35% sign-up bonus for first-time deposits and a 30%, $100 max reload one-time reload on Friday's only this month for Absolute Rewards members.

I see nothing about a 30%, $210 max reload there.

i agree with what you are doing here.
it appears to me that they are mixing up and confusing their own bonuses.

i like their customer service for the most part...but they need to learn to get their act together and need to be told that they are confusing everyone.

MicroBob

another example - i accidentally deposited on wednesday last week for their reload that didn't start until thursday.
they replied quickly that they needed to check with the promotions manager to see if i could just get credit for that deposit (i was also fine with cashing-out and re-depositing since it was my fault).
i was told i would receive a reply within 24-hours...
but i didn't.

i forwarded the original conversation back to them and stated at the beginning that i was still waiting to hear back from them. still no reply.

did same thing about 12 hours later or so...still no reply.

then i asked them to please respons at my AOL address because i was curious whether their e-mails were getting blocked (which AOL has done at random lately). they responded right-away.
then i wrote back stating that i had not received replies to my previous 3 e-mails so i was concerned they were being blocked...but evidently they just didn't respond to them for some reason.

within 10 minutes i received a reply to that asking me to state whatever my concern was and that they would be happy to assist me.

by that tinme, 48-hours had passed so i just cashed-out...re-deposited...and got the bonus.

but it certainly showed some inadequacies in their customer-service.

btw....i couldn't help but laugh when the last person to contact me (who would be 'happy' to assist me) was named Gabby.

Tonight the popup has changed again. Now its says max 100.

Well, no response from last email. I did deposit 350 and emailed them and got the 100 bonus. Not sure about other bonuses though

the scroll at the bottom of their lobby was off for a little bit too i think. likely just to make the necessary corrections.

i deposited and got nothing...so i e-mailed promotions and got my $100 bonus.

as i stated before...it appears this is not an ADDITIONAL bonus...but was an e-mail sent out merely to remind the AP-members to take advantage of the TGIF coupon-bonus thingee.

they need to tighten up the language on their promotional e-mails, etc to alleviate confusion...and need a bit of work on their customer-support.
but overall, i think it's friendlier and still is smarter than some of the mistakes i have seen at some other sites.

i do think they are doing more things right then wrong.

and did i mention that i have acquired $1k in bonus-money since signing-up 1 month ago??

now...if only they could draw a few more fish.

I do think Absolute makes a legitimate attempt to be customer-friendly, but I must say that I have yet to see a response to a question from them that didn't indicate cluelessness as to what the actual question was. I think perhaps they need to give prospective customer service employees a reading comprehension test before hiring them.
